I brought my kids to the PTC Sunday Beginner Ride at the Rose Bowl. It was the 2nd Sunday of the month, which happens to be the Great Rose Bowl Flea Market day. gawd, it was a zoo there. Steve was leading the ride today with a couple new PTC members Kelsy and Kin. I suggested we got out of the Bowl area for safety sake. The cars were pouring into the parking lots and filling up the offroad sides. It was nuts. By the time we returned, the parking lots next to the bowl were filled and the lower lots by RBAC were filling
Salvia Canyon is the climb out of the bowl area, which is a little steep for new riders. My kids are used to hills, because of where we live, so they zoomed to the top and waited. Sue was about their speed. So, the four of us proceeded ahead. Linda Vista is a false flat, which means it looks flat but is really a slow steady climb. At Highland, we took the low road on Berkshire. BK was a little tired. We took a short break. Chevy Chase to Descanso Gardens. We took a picture and the rest of the crew showed up. I offered my kids a Powerbar Gel. They both gagged and said thanks, but no thanks. Eugene stopped by at the top too. He thought this was a pretty tough beginner ride too.
We returned the same route. A lot more down hill. It was a beautiful day in Pasadena.
MM, BK, me, Kin, Kelsy, Mike, Steve, Luis, Shihab, Mike, Sue. Lynda and Amy were out for a run. They took our picture.
