59.5 miles, 2:55 moving time, 37 Strava trophies.
The Club left from Sierra Madre, but I met them at the Arcadia Golf Club. (I was running late, cuz I forgot my helmet at home.) On a cloudy day, we rode down the Upper Rio Hondo River Trail to Whittier. We crossed over to the Lower Rio Hondo River Trail, which merges into the Los Angeles River Trail in Lynwood. We had a stiff head winds in the southbound direction. I rode with Mike, Trevor, Philip, Paul, Rob, Gregg, Kirk.
In Long Beach, we refueled at Starbucks by the Superior Courthouse. On the way back, we had a tail wind, which was a welcome relief. I burned a few matches catching up to Kirk, Hank, Robert, Philip. Paul came on my wheel. With the wind to my back and with some great train drivers, I broke 37 Strava trophies on the way back.
After the ride, I had a bonus 3 mile run. I drove up to Sierra Madre for the run. It’s always better with company. I saw Gregg, Luis, Alvin, and Bryan on the run.
Trevor, Johanna, Rob, Alvin, Sue, Hank, Luis, Lura, Philip, Paul, Gregg, Robert, GT, Jason, Kirk, Rudy, Bryan, Lynda, Peter, Anton, Mike, Ben and Joe.
