My friend Lynda hosted an Easter Party on Sunday at her house. Each year she throws a thank-you party of sorts to show appreciate to our wives and kids, who put up with our non-stop training and crazy events.
There was Cookie Decorating competition with winners in different categories, with gift card prizes for the kids. Sweepstakes prize for best in show was an Amazon.com gift card. Home made cookies and frosting. Way to go, Lynda!
There was a Egg Hunt Speed Style Contest. You can tell that Lynda wants to instill the competitive streak in all our kids. Big prize for 1st to pick up 16 eggs and cross the finish line. And, there was indeed controversy at the finish line too.
We took pictures of each family and also a shot with Lynda and the kids. The bunny ears were priceless! The kids and moms decorated a frame to take home. We’ll print out the family pictures and send them home soon.
Chocolate bunnies, baskets, candy. A great time was had by all.
It’s fitting that the Easter Party was a day after Mulholland Challenge. While I tried to limit the triathlon talk, Marvin and Bryan couldn’t resist, at times. This event earns us Spousal Approval Units (SAUs) which are cashed in throughout the year for events which take us from our family obligations and our spouses pick up the slack. SAU is a term, coined by our dear friend and coach Rich Strauss. Each of the families has 2 kids. It works out great. It was intended to be a stress free day for the moms.
Thanks, Lynda!
