Open Water Swim: Corona del Mar, Newport Beach

1,331 yds, 33:04 moving time.

Todd led an open water swim at Corona del Mar Beach in Newport Beach, on Sunday morning. The cove was great today. With a little bit of swell on the far side, my vision was a little loopy for a bit. The water temperature was about 60F. It definitely felt cold when we started. I wore a swim cap, which keeps me warmer. We swam around the square of buoys. We regrouped at each buoy. With some swells, the buoys would dip down and make sighting a little harder. I used land marks like houses, trees, and bright spots on roofs. Todd and Bob went for a 3 mile run after. We had breakfast burritos at the Tackle Shop and then headed home.
