Kids are on vacation for the whole week of Thanksgiving. MM was going rollerskating with some high-school friends, but her ride fell through. Since Mom and Dad have to work most of the week, we needed a night out too. So we took the kids and M’s friends to the Moonlight Rollerway in Glendale. It was dejavu for me. I skated here when I was in high school; it’s really close to my parent’s house. It’s pretty nice, compared to by blurry memories of mid-80’s. When we entered, we heard the organ blasting. It was old time organ, like a carousel or baseball game. Later it was disco and eighties, but it was all fun. This was BK’s first time skating. He picked it up fast. My wife sat it out and watched. She was thoroughly impressed with my skating moves, forward and backwards! BK and I tried to not cramp Sister’s style, and give she and her high-schooler friends some space. We rolled around doing left left left turns, almost until closing time.
