We started in Sierra Madre’s Starbucks. Rob, Luis, Paul, Phil, Lynda, Jonathan, Derek, Kirk and me. This was a long tough ride, but perfect conditions. It was rollers and steep climbs, mountain vistas, fireplace in the lodge.
We picked up a few more at Encanto Park in Duarte. Gail, Neil, Rob, MIchel, DaveR, MikeW and Andy.
We rode the San Gabriel river trail for a little while, then headed east to Glendora.
The gate is the start of the time trial up Glendora Mountain Road, famously known as GMR.
The weather was spectacular for the ride. Cool and crisp. Not too cold, not too hot. The scenery was amazing.
The A group sat and had french toast and coffee, under the watchful eye of the buffalo, at Mt. Baldy Lodge Restaurant.
Then it was uphill and back to Pasadena. Long tough ride. Pretty conditions.
