PTC met at Jones Coffee in Pasadena. The three groups stayed together through Eagle Rock, then split up naturally by speed. Bryan and A-group sped way ahead, Lynda and B-group rolled on moderately, and Elizabeth and the Coached ride motored along. Gorgeous day around LA, as you’ll see in the pics. This should really make the snow kids back East envious. Rolling through Glendale along Kenneth Road where I grew up, we passed about a block from my mom and dad’s house. We turned south on Sonora to Riverside Drive, where we entered the backside of Griffith Park. We passed Travel Town with full size train cars. The climb up the backside has a great view of the San Fernando Valley, with Burbank in the foreground. At the top of the ridge, we stopped for pictures with the Hollywood sign and views of the Griffith Observatory and downtown LA and views of the Westside, Century City, Westwood and Santa Monica. A-group added a down and back and met us at the Observatory. We rolled through the Hollywood Hills, down a sneaky trail to get back to Griffith Park without any traffic. We picked up the LA River trail and headed south next to the 5 freeway. We took Fletcher back to Eagle Rock and La Loma to Pasadena. Post ride coffee at Jones. Ahhh.
