The Pasadena Triathlon Club rode from Pasadena up Angeles Crest Highway to Upper Big Tajunga Canyon. The ride was a prelude to the Tour of California, which would be coming down the same stretch later that afternoon. Weather was warm when we started and down right hot at the end. But, it was sparkling and beautiful in the Angele Forest. We met at Jones Coffee at the start and cooled off there at the end. We got to hear first hand from Trevor and Tyler about the Ironman 70.3 Santa Rosa. The new swim course, the long and bumpy road to T1, the flat and fast bike, and the shady and flat run. Sounds like a nice race course! I’ll plan on doing that one in 2018 (they will move the 70.3 to July and the Full IM to May, those are the rumors from Ironman). We also got to hear about new baby for Bjeorn! Congrats! And also we got to hear about Peter’s Pacific Crest Trail 50 mile race. Woah! Well done.
I got 22 Strava trophies today. I guess I was booking it up the hill. I was trying to keep up with Rudy and Mike. Also of note, there was tons of auto traffic going up the mountain today. That was a bit unusual. Coming down, I only had a few cars pass me. That’s fine. I was definitely booking it down hill. That felt so good.
Alvin, Rudy, Peter, GT, MikeW, Bjeorn, Tiffany, Tyler, Trevor, and Joe. Bob joined us in La Canada.
Trever and I were the slowest of the crew climbing so I only have pictures of Tyler, who was waiting to flip it.
