Video. Cogswell Dam. Bike Life Lesson #2, #3.

Descending from Cogswell Dam. Pasadena Triathlon Club Saturday Ride. April 27 2013. This video was taken on a PTC club ride. 53.3 miles. 3:55 (hr:min). Start Sierra Madre. Hwy 39 through Azusa.

Bike Life Lesson #2: The great outdoors is just that. It’s great and it’s outdoors.

There is something great about fresh air. There’s freedom and space. Let’s your mind decompress. Thrill of adventure. Even if that’s just a few miles up the mountain. The last stretch of the ride in the mountain is on a path closed to cars. it’s an amazing tree covered path along a stream. This video shows the descent from the dam along the stream.

Bike Life Lesson #3: Find new places and routes with friends.

I would never have found this route without the club. PTC has shown me all over Southern California. I didn’t know any bike paths before I met PTC. Now I can get around San Gabriel Valley, San Fernando Valley, to Long Beach and back. Although I lost the Garmin data for the original ride, here’s the same Cogswell route from November 9, 2013. Slightly shorter route from Duarte. I must have slept in and missed the Sierra Madre start point. hah.
