MM played in the marching band tonight at her first high school football game. We saw lots of friends at the game. It was a great night to be out with the family. My wife helped out with the snack stand and earned credit for the band. I chatted with a bunch of neighbors and friends. What mixed memories this brings to me of my high school days. Some good some bad. I resist comparing or projecting my own school experiences onto my kids. I’m just happy they have nice friends, they have fun in extra curricular stuff, and they’re doing well in school. I leave my own baggage in the past and live the present with my kids. I’m thrilled that they’re having so much fun.
