Tour of Pasadena, La Canada, Cal Tech, then soccer game

28.4 miles, 2:10 moving time.
I rode a solo early ride on Saturday so that I could make it to BK’s soccer game.

I waited a few minutes at Trader Joes just in case any other soccer type parents wanted to ride with me. Nope. I rode by the Rose Bowl then I climbed the local Hills. At Descanso Gardens, I stopped to take the pink tree picture, but I wasn’t fully clipped out. I tipped over and bruised my wrist . Oops. The clouds burned off and the morning was beautiful. I went up Hampstead 6-10% grade and Sugar Loaf 14-18% grade. Rode up back side of Figueroa and down Lida. I climbed up Glen Oaks and down Patrician.

I stopped by Cal Tech and took a few pictures. The Atheneum is a faculty restaurant that’s very fancy inside. Fun fact: When Albert Einstein lived on campus, he stayed in the upstairs room above the Atheneum.

The soccer game was at Monrovia High School. It was a pretty day even if the boys lost.
