Pasadena Triathlon Club hosted its first Gear Swap Day at Around the Cycle.
It was an opportunity to take care of a bunch of things at the same time. Cleaning out old gear is refreshing. The stuff I don’t need anymore can benefit other people. The vacancy clear both the shelves in the garage and the dusty shelves in my mind. [Joshua Becker, one of my favorite writers, reminds me to Become Minimalist.] For the stuff that wasn’t swapped, it can be consigned or donated through Ryan’s shop. I had a big bucket for him to work on. Old wetsuit, saddle bags, swim paddles, bike handlebars, bike stems, heart rate monitors and sensors.
Around the Cycle is a great local bike shop that specializes in used and previously loved bikes and tri gear. Ryan is a master latte maker too. I’ve sent many new members to his shop because they can find great deals on bikes and learn about what they really want before spending the big bucks on a new bike.
Athlete’s lounge. Andy and Jill were showing off a couple recovery boots. Everybody that came got a chance to try them out and relax.
Kit Fit with Brian and Champion Systems. PTC branded cycling kits, tri kits, running tops are ordered through Champion systems.
I gave out PTC socks free to Club Members. Brian gave out goodie bags with Tour of California gear. Peter brought his little boy, and I brought my son. Missed a pic of those two together. Fun times.
Farm Fresh to You. Sheila provided local, organic fruits for snacks. She’s got a great business that drops of fruits and veggies to your doorstep every week.
