My son plays trumpet in the Middle School Band. Their band joined the High School Band on a Friday night. Ahh memories of high school football games! Fun Fact: I was the drum major for my high school band! I’ve withheld my personal emotions about band with my kids and not scar them or prejudice them with my own warped memories and experiences. Rather, I have consistently encouraged them to do band if they enjoy it and to quit it when they don’t. There’s many opportunities in middle school and high school, band is an option, one of many. It can be great. My daughter had fun in the high school band last year and chose to skip it this year.
