Ride Report – Cogswell Dam

56.5 miles, 3:31 moving time, 3,353 ft elevation, 22 trophies

We started at Sierra Madre and the picked up a bunch at Encanto Park in Duarte. We rode up the San Gabriel River Trail Bikeway to the end, and merged onto Azusa Hwy 39. We climbed up the along the San Gabriel dams and the rode past East Fork. We regrouped at West Fork. Perfect potty stop too. This last 8 miles is the most beautiful ride along a stream. One of my favorite hidden gems. The water is babbling in a brook. The trees are shady. and there’s no cars or motorcycles. A few hikers. The last 1/4 mile is 10-14% grade to the top of the dam.
