While some Club mates are slugging it out at Ironman Santa Rosa, the rest of us rode on Angeles Crest Highway. We met at Panera Bread in La Canada on a warm summer morning. And it just got hotter as we climbed up the mountain. With a lack of B group riders, I rode up as fast as I could. I felt pretty good up to Clear Creek. I was sweating buckets on the ride up. I press my helmet to squeeze out a puddle of sweat before it blinds my eyes. I lost steam by the time we reached Red box. I opted out of Cloudbust due to time constraints and followed Kirk, Graziano, Alvin, and Ryan up to Mt. Wilson. Bob, Gregg, Marco, and Rob were on a mission to Cloudbust. At the top, just before the Observatory, I ran into Dino, who was doing a Peak to Peak training day for Leadville 100 Mountain Bike. We chatted about his LA times article and my Tri movie. Good times. The descent was super fast and warm.
