Sunday Ride to Mt. Wilson

38.3 mills, 3:32:43 moving time, 4,976 ft elevation, 8 strava trophies.

Fun Ride on Sunday to Mt. Wilson. Lynda, Bob, Sue and Joe. We met at La Canada and rode up Hwy 2, Angeles Crest Highway. There was tons of traffic going up, cars and motorcycles, all of which were really loud. Going up is not a big deal to stay off to the side, cuz we were climbing slowly. My tummy had a grumbly at mile 7. I got lucky and made it to Clear Creek (mile 9), with seconds to spare. Anyway, the weather was really nice. We usually start at 7:30am, but Lynda was flying back to LA this morning, so we didn’t start until 10:30am. There we’re warm spots and cool spots. There was shade from Red Box to Mt. Wilson, that was refreshing. I rode with my Apple Watch Series 3. My Garmin 810 was dead, so I had no idea how fast i was going unless I looked at my watch. The descent was fast and furious. Not too many cars or motorcycles. Super fun descent. I couldn’t tell exactly how fast I was going, cuz it wasn’t safe to raise my wrist and look at my watch. Strava says I topped out at 39.8 mph. Wahoo.
