13.1 miles, 2:20 time
On a dark and chilly morning, we drove out to Azusa for the Revel Azusa Canyon Half Marathon 2017. We got a ride to the West Fork of Azusa Canyon. It was a full moon. Last bus to the start was at 5:30am, but we got a ride with Sue and Gregg who were the SAG in the cars for the Half and Full marathon. Door to door service, Thanks SUE and GREGG! There was about 45min freezing wait. It was quite a funny scene with all the space blankets and gloves (from the packet pickup). We started on time at 7am and headed down and up and down and up and down the hill. The aid stations are randomly spaced due to the available turnoff on the road. Miles 1-6 are rollers. 7-10 are steady downhill. 11-13 are flat. The finish line in front of Azusa City hall, which was a mile longer than last year. We saw our buddy Nicole, who volunteers at this race. Rudy and Ryan enjoyed the beer garden, and then we went for some breakfast.
