The morning started out cool, but warmed up just enough for a perfect day to ride. Pasadena Tri Club started the ride at Jones Coffee in Pasadena. We rode east on Walnut and Paloma up to Sierra Madre and New York Ave, where we picked up Peter. We rode up, up, and up, along the west edge of Eaton Canyon to the top of Lake Ave, with bursts of 10% hills. A short and straight descent on Loma Vista. Then we climbed up Chaney Trail. Oh boy, that is an eye opening 18%+ climb. I made it to the top just as the rest of the guys started descending. We rode across Alta Dena toward JPL, and up Highland and Chevy Chase to Descanso Gardens. Another Regroup. We rode up to Foothill all the way to Dunsmore, just before leaving Montrose. Fun and flying fast Descent through Montrose and Glendale. Climbed over Glenoaks to Chevy Chase and up and over Linda Vista, back to Pasadena. We climbed up Glen Oaks, where Todd caught up to us, and wound our way over to Arbor, the last and final blast of the morning. Coffee and snacks back at Jones. Yum. Great start to the weekend.
Graziano, Bill, Mike, Gregg, Ryan. Sven, Amy, Joe. Later we picked up PeterD and Todd.
Passing Eaton Canyon, on the way to top of Lake.
Blue Skies from Lake toward Chaney.
I made it to the top of Chaney Trail. Whew. Up is hard, but down is downright scary.
Top of Lida, overlooking Pasadena.
