Ride Report – Front Side of GMR

37.7 miles, 3:21 moving time, 3,553 ft elevation

John, Alvin, Mike O., Mike K., Daniel, Gary, Joe, Rob, Jackson, Taylor, Peter, Raoul, Julien, Larry, Gregg

Alvin started the Club at Sierra Madre. Rode east to Encanto Park in Duarte. Picked up the local east-siders and late risers, like me. It was clear blue skies, but brisk cold morning with light winds.

Mile 1: Went up the San Gabriel River Trail to the end.

Mile 6: Rode east along Sierra Madre. Left up Glendora Mountain Rode.

Mile 7: Start climb at Gate for GMR. Gate was open for traffic, but we had very few cars. It was great.

Mile 16: Eight mile climb to the Top of GMR. We stopped along the wall and took a picture.

Mile 22: Descent down the Backside of GMR is lovely. One of my favorite descents. Cool in the shade. Stopped at the Cafe.

Mile 26: Climbed out of East Fork. Crossed bridge and turned left back on Hwy 39.

Mile 34: Climbed and descended out of Azusa Canyon. Got on the bike path San Gabriel River Trail and back to Encanto.

Great Ride!
