I interviewed Dino Sarti, on January 15, 2014, in Arcadia, CA. Dino is the PTC President 2014.
This is Dino’s triathlon story.
Dino is a local business owner of a beverage company, in Arcadia.
About 4 years ago, Dino and his wife were expecting their 2nd child. Dino made a huge decision to change things up in his life, to get back to who he was years ago. Exercise was part of a larger life change, which included losing 80+ lbs. He changed his diet, minimizing sugar, red meat. About 3.5 year ago, he got into triathlon by a challenge from his brother. Dino got hooked.
Dino enjoys training for triathlons as much as the race itself. By 2013, he has completed two Ironman triathlons (IRONMAN Coeur d’Alene and IRONMAN Lake Tahoe). Even though it’s not been that many years, he does finds a lot of identity in triathlon now.
Advice to newbies: Get over your fears. Come out and play. Give it a try. It’s not easy being the new kid on the block, but you’ll have fun. There’s something for everyone.
Lesson1: The more effort and energy you put into it, the more you’ll get out of it.
Lesson2: Quality of work is more important than the quantity.
Motto: “Work works.” [Borrowed from a friend.]
These lessons are true in triathlon, true in business and in life.
Thanks, Dino for sharing!
Production notes: This was my very first interview and I didn’t know what to expect. I had a lot of fun with this one. Since Dino is a good friend, the process was very easy. I tried to keep the interview short and sweet.
