31.9 miles, 2:32 moving time, 2,329 elevation. PTC Saturday Coach Ride.
We went on a great Saturday Ride with Pasadena Tri Club to Hollywood and the Griffith Park Observatory.
GT, Lynda, Jaime, Amy, Steve, Bill, Bryan, Phil, Dave Luis, Alvin, Gregg, Brent, Kin, Peter, Hank, Mike, Mike, Daht, Dave, Elizabeth, Kelsey, and Joe
We started from Jones Coffee in Pasadena and rolled west over the Arroyo Seco, through Eagle Rock and Glendale to the backside of Griffith Park. Lynda led out the main ride, while I led out the coached ride.
Here’s our picture with the Hollywood sign.
The main group took a couple loops on a down/back from the observatory, so the coached ride actually regrouped with the main ride at the observatory for a big group picture.
From the observatory, the main ride rolled back over the hill towards the San Fernando Valley, while the coached ride and I rolled forward down the LA side. We took the shortcut through the neighborhood to avoid most of the busy traffic on Los Felix Blvd. The shortcut includes a half block of dirt, before joining the the LA River Trail. The took the LA River Trail to Fletcher and then rolled up to Eagle Rock Blvd and back along Colorado Blvd. The usual route through La Loma is closed due to reconstruction on the La Loma Bridge. We beat the main ride back to Jones for coffee.
