Whisk n Ladle – Restaurant Review

We went for a special dinner in La Jolla at Whisk and Ladle. Yummy. Coincidentally, it was Restaurant Week in all of San Diego, including La Jolla. So there was a $40 deal for First course + Second + Dessert.

First Course: I was drooling over the Cheese Board. It had Bleu and Gouda Cheese, salami, prosciutto, pate, olives (black, green, red, pits in), pickles, beets, fruit compote, salad and breads. Most excellent. My daughter enjoyed a unique looking Caesars Salad. My son like the mushroom soup, and he doesn’t even like mushrooms. [He says it’s mostly the texture of mushroom that put him off.]

Wine: I had a glass of Melbec.

Second Course: My wife and I both had the Seared Diver Scallops for 2nd.  The kids both had the Prime Flat Iron Steak for 2nd course.

Dessert: We got all three listed plus the gelato. I loved the Coconut and Key Lime Tart, with white chocolate ganache, balck currant jam, coconut tuille. My wife liked the Butterscotch Budino, with salted caramel, whipped cream, brown butter blodies. My son had the “Smores” Chocolate Cloud Cake, with cinnamon, graham cracker crumb, toasted merigue. My daughter had scoops of mocha and chocolate gelato.

While we killed a little time before our reservation, BK and I went to the Music Library next store. It had an audio art gallery.
