I actually like swimming in the rain. You’re already wet so who cares if it’s raining. It’s better than running in the rain and much better than riding in the rain. Coach Mike was a trooper with his umbrella on the deck. I jumped in and got started. The water felt great. The rain on my back felt cool. Then I saw a flash and heard a boom.

We rarely have lightning in LA. But, today, there was lightning and thunder, so the pool was evacuated. Since I had never heard the loud speakers at the pool before, the loud evacuation announcement was a little scary. Needless to say we jumped out pretty quick. The rain was really coming down hard. There were more flashes and loud rolling thunder. Today’s swim was not meant to be. Oh well, time for coffee!
