Saturday was a bright and sunny, crisp morning. Layers were key cuz it warmed up to a perfect day.
The Club met at Starbucks in Sierra Madre. We rolled over to Encanto in Duarte and picked up a few more clubmates. We rode the San Gabriel River Trail a bit, along to the top of the Santa Fe Dam. Then, we turned east and rode along Arrow Hwy through Irwindale, Monrovia, and Glendora. We saw a few packs of the Montrose ride fly by us, and a few went down at a light. Ack. We saw our buddy Matthew from VELO Pasadena in the pack. We saw our buddy Richie Swaris rolling by in his truck.
Mile 24. San Dimas Blvd and Gladstone. Life choices. For folks running Surf City Half Marathon tomorrow, they turned left and circled back home. For the ambitious, they turned right and went to Bonelli Park and looped around the perimeter. Some of us just followed which ever crowd was immediately in front of us.
Today was Judy’s first ride with the Club and she was “picking up tips from Lynda” along today’s ride. We circled it at San Dimas. We turned up to Foothill and gazed on the beautiful hills and crystal clear blue sky.
It was an absolutely perfect weather for a ride. Really pleasant. Oh, and it was pretty flat too, might of had something to do with the pleasantry.
