Ride Report – Big Tujunga – Angeles Forest Highway

42.47 miles, 3:53:38 moving time, 4.379 ft elevation

Lynda, Bill, Trey, Ryan, Alvin, Mark, Bob, Dave, Gregg, Joe, Paul, Michael, Rick, John, Erick.

Club met at Starbucks in La Canada. The club set out northwest along Foothill through La Crescenta to Sunland. The club headed north on Mt. Gleason to connect to Big Tujunga Canyon Rd. I got dropped off the back and got a little lost at the Mt. Gleason, but eventually caught up. The climbing began in earnest. The Big Tujunga is 9 mile climb at 6-8%. Long haul. Club re-grouped at the fire station. The original route included Upper Big Tujunga, but we heard that it was closed due to the recent brush fires. So, the club flipped it at the fire station and headed back to Angeles Forest Highway for more climbing. Then, the fast descent back into La Canada. Hard climbing day finished with a cold Starbucks pineapple peach green tea lemonade. ahh.
