The most perfect weather for this ride. Cool morning and then sunny and crisp the rest of the day. Amazing views, tailwinds through Camp Pendleton, beer and pizza, and a private bus ride home. Perfect, dialed-in day. This was the longest ride for a couple club members: Dale, Erick, and Marisa. Well Done!

Mile 1-13 Club met at the Anaheim Transportation Intermodal Center (Amtrak Station). We loaded our day bags in the the Trailer. Thanks for SAG support, YURI! This is a one way ride all the way to Solana Beach. Anaheim River Trail. Ride started along the river trail. Cleaned up embankment, looking good. A Group went out super fast. Geez. Regroup at the end of the river trail on PCH, first potty stop. We shed a few layers and tossed them into the trailer. Awesome support day.
Mile 18. Newport Beach peninsula. We took the ferry ride cross the bay. And rolled through a spectacular stretch of Gold Coast of California. We passed the Corona Del Mar Beach, where we swim in the summer. Sparkling water and swanky mansions along the beach.
Mile 21-33. Pacific Coast Highway. Pelican Hill, Crystal Cove, Laguna Beach. Beautiful beaches and OC views. Sue got a flat. We tried fixing, but Yuri picked her up and took her to the next regroup at Donut / Starbucks stop.
Mile 34. Dana Point. Green Lantern drop into Dana Point Harbor. Rode along Doheny State Beach. More Beautiful.
Mile 40. Wiggling through San Clemente. Follow the Bike Path through the residential squiggles.
Mile 44: Trestles Beach. Surf’s Up, dude. San Onofre Beach. Miles of surfers. nice waves
Mile 54-62. Camp Pendleton closed to bike. We rode on the 5 Fwy. Loud traffic, but wide shoulder, not too much crap on the road. Sue got another flat. Yuri was miraculously there in seconds. Crazy cool. We regrouped at Gas Station.
Mile 62-78. Rolling through the Beach cities. Oceanside. Carlsbad. Views of the water, cool breezes. Perfect day. Leucadia Beach. Encinitas. and finally Solana Beach. We made it! Pizza Port for beers and pizza. Yuri parked the Trailer around the corner. We changed into street clothes and packed up bikes in the trailer. Johnna and Barry joined us for pizza too. Private bus picked us up at 3pm and took us back to Anaheim.
